Both these cakes, the first for their respective companies, helped pave the way for future success. For Little Debbie, the Oatmeal Cream Pie- A snack cake so all-American it makes apple pie look like commie chow. For Tastykake, the Chocolate Jr. – First sold in 1917, and considered by most respected economists to be the primary catalyst to the roaring twenties. But all this pales in comparison to this match-up, the greatest moment in either of their storied careers. As a Dr B said, someone’s roots are getting cut off!
